The Anthony Wayne Symphonic Band will participate in the Capital University 2011 Wind Band Invitational and New Band Music Reading Clinic on November 18th. The band will perform at 4:30 pm on Friday, November 18.
All performances will be in Mees Hall of the Conservatory of Music and are open to the public and free of charge.
Students should eat Lunch A and then come to the band room.
Students should wear nice casual clothes (khakis, collared shirts, sweaters, etc.) for the bus ride to Columbus. Concert wear will be hung on racks in one of the buses. After arriving at Capital, we will change into our concert dress. After the concert, we will change back into our casual clothes and go to the Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner. We will leave our instruments in a locked classroom until we return to Capital. Students should bring $10 to help cover dinner to school by Thursday. After dinner we will return to Capital for the Capital Symphonic Winds Concert.
The Marching Generals will perform at halftime for a Siena Heights Football game in Adrian, Michigan on November 12th. Students should report at 10:00am and will depart by 10:30. Students return to AW at about 5:00pm. Lunch will be provided for the students by Siena Heights.
Family and friends can purchase tickets at Siena Heights for $5.00.
Several students will be taking the PLAN test on Saturday before the Siena Heights football game. Those students can report to the band room after the test to get ready. A bus will be ready to take them around NOON. Students will have food available when they get to the game (probably about 1). They may want to bring a snack to eat after the test to hold them over until the game.
September 17, 2011 is the 25th annual Showcase of Bands.
Students must report @ 4:45pm for practice.
Gates will open to the public @ 6:00pm, the show starts @ 7:00pm
